Little Children’s Christmas Activity Book for Usborne Books
Ho ho ho! The Christmas season is in full swing, and I for one am already getting into the holiday spirit. Our tree is up, we’re starting to watch Christmas movies, and I even have a few presents bought already! In keeping with the season of St. Nick, I thought I’d share with you a recent project that was so nice to work on — Usborne’s Little Children’s Christmas Activity Book. It’s a lovely little book full of activities for small children, such as coloring pages, puzzles and games, plus it has a few pages of stickers! It’s available for sale in the UK on Amazon here (sorry to my US friends that it’s not available there). The book was a group effort using the talents of a number of illustrators, and I worked on three of the spreads. Here is a photo of the cover (against the backdrop of my christmas tree!):
And here are my two favorite illustrations I did for the book — the first is a spot-the-ornaments game on a wintery tree, and the second is all about finding the various animals in a winter wonderland scene.
I worked on these illustrations back in the late spring and early summer, but because they involved drawing some of my favorite things I didn’t even have a hard time getting into the holiday spirit when it was still warm outside. A special thanks goes out to art director Erica Harrison, who was a delight to work with. If anyone needs a Christmas present for a little one out there, this would make a great addition under the tree!
