Bunny Breaths — The latest Mindfulness Moments board book, just in time for Easter!
Hello world! This is a post I’ve been meaning to write for a few weeks, but, as it has for everyone, everything went a bit topsy-turvey a couple of weeks ago and regularly scheduled tasks have been all scrumbled up (as my Emmett would say). I hope everyone reading this is staying safe and healthy in this post-coronavirus world, and that you’re all hanging in there while you’re hunkering at home.
The new project I have to share would not only make a great Easter basket gift, but may also help entertain your little ones during the long days of being at home (as would all of the Breathe Like a Bear books!). It’s called Bunny Breaths, and it’s the lastest in the series of Mindfulness Moments board books from Rodale Kids, written by the very talented Kira Willey and illustrated by me. As with the Breathe Like a Bear and Listen Like an Elephant board books, this one is an extended version of an exercise from the original Breathe Like a Bear book, in this case one also called Bunny Breaths.
It follows the story of a little bunny who wakes early with her woodland friends and goes in search of a tasty snack. The narrative is interspersed with the bunny breath mindfulness technique which helps little ones get energized for their day. I won’t give away the ending, but I can say it involves something orange and crunchy!
As always it was delightful getting to illustrate Kira’s lovely text and to work with art director Jan Gerardi who is always so positive. If you’d like to order the book it’s on Amazon in the US here, and in the UK here. If you do order it I hope it helps entertain your little ones during this challenging time! Thanks for reading, and stay safe!
